  1. $358,000 Verdict Against Conseco Financial
    Plaintiff was deceived into transferring title to his mobile home by the promise of Conseco that they had buyers to buy his home and would save him from owing Conseco any money and having his credit destroyed. The evidence showed that Conseco did not actively find buyers for the home, left Plaintiff owing Conseco significant money, and made various derogatory reports on Plaintiff's credit.
  2. L.B and S.B v. T. B. and D.B. and J.B. a minor child, Case No. 00C4413, The District Court of Wyandotte County, Kansas. Case involved claims of assault and sexual abuse of L.B and S.B, together with claims of negligent supervision of J.B by Terri Beatty and Deborah Beatty. Confidential settlement.
  3. C.S v. Heartland Chicken, Inc., et al., Case No. 01CV0058, United States District Court, Western District of Missouri. C.S was sexually assaulted while performing her work duties on behalf of Heartland Chicken, Inc. Confidential settlement.
  4. Mark Chapman v. Ronald Shaddox, Case No. CV199-465CC, in the Circuit Court of Benton County, Missouri. Chapman brought claims against Chadicks for breaches of fiduciary duty, fraud, and conversion. The case was tried to a jury find in favor of Mark Chapman and actual damages of $25,000.00 in punitive damages of $200,000.00.
  5. Michael Peter Franklin v. Community America Credit Union, Case No. 01-0425, United States District Court, Western District of Missouri. Plaintiff brought claims of violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act based on derogatory reports on his credit rating which therein impacted plaintiff's ability to obtain additional financing on behalf of various car dealerships. Confidential settlement.
  6. Maranda A. Peck v. James Danou and Specialty Motorcars, Inc., Case No. 00CV201452, Circuit Court of Jackson County, Missouri at Kansas City. Plaintiff purchased a vehicle from defendants that was represented as a one owner vehicle. It was later determined the vehicle was a combination of up to three separate vehicles. The case was tried to the court resulting in actual damages on behalf of plaintiff of $24,115.70, and punitive damages in the amount of $250,000.00.
  7. FPC Properties, Inc., et al. v. DLJ Enterprises, Inc. and David L. Johnson, Case No. 571800027498 for the American Arbitration Association. Represented plaintiffs in a class action alleging fraud and breaches of fiduciary duty associated with an investment PPM wherein monies raised were to be managed by the defendants in the operation of a restaurant in the greater metropolitan St. Louis area. Confidential settlement after two days of arbitration hearing.
  8. John N. Makona and Jane V. Makona v. Randy Waits, et al., Case No. 01C2719, in the District Court of Wyandotte County, Kansas. Represented defendant individual and real estate agency in connection with the claims of fraud, conversion, negligence and breaches of fiduciary duty concerning the sale of a home located in Wyandotte County. Plaintiffs demanded compensation in excess of $200,000.00. The Court granted judgment in favor of defendants at the close of the plaintiff's evidence following two days of jury trial.
  9. Heartland Equipment Repair, Inc. v. Mike Bell and Gary Bell, Case No. 00C62. The District Court of Miami County, Kansas. Clients were defendants who were sued in a collection against for failure to pay costs associated with repairs to various dump trucks used by defendants in their business. Counterclaims were brought on behalf of defendants alleging claims of fraud, breach of expressed and implied warranties and violations of the Kansas Consumer Protection Act. After two days of trial, judgment was entered on behalf of defendants on their counterclaims.
  10. Karla Jenkins Wilson v. Robert E. Jenkins, et al., Case No. 03CV08142 The District Court of Johnson County, Kansas. Counsel was retained by various individuals and a limited liability company for purposes of defending a quiet title action brought on behalf of plaintiff concerning commercial real estate that was under contract for sale by the firm's clients. Counsel successfully forced the appointment of a receiver followed by an order of the Court requiring the sale of the property. Counsel successfully negotiated and managed the real estate transaction through closing with the sale of the real estate in excess of $4 million, together with broker fees paid to counsel's client.
  11. S.J v. Henry Williams, et al. Plaintiff brought claims associated with her assault by a church minister who was a volunteer at her middle school. Plaintiff brought claims of assault against the individual minister, together with claims of negligence against the school district, its administrators and the reverend's church. Plaintiff obtained judgment against the minister and the church in the amount of $2 million.
  12. 3.9 Million Dollar Settlement. York v. Klockner Capital Corporation, et al., Case No. 012-00543. The City of St. Louis, Missouri. Plaintiff was severely injured when here hair was caught in an unguarded slow moving shaft on the cheese packaging machine she was operating. The machine was manufactured in the early 1960's. Plaintiff filed suit against several successor companies for negligence, failure to warn and strict products liability. On the first day of trial, Plaintiff received a settlement of over 3.9 Million Dollars.
